About as deep as a puddle

Greetings everyone!

I'm Vicki, and I am one half of the dynamic collegeover24 management duo. I created this community because it seems as if 95% of the college related communities on LJ are geared towards 18/19 year olds that are straight outta high school or 19/20/21 year old transfers. Since I've been having the same issues finding a place for non-traditional college students, I thought that I couldn't be the only one. :)

In high school, I screwed around for most of Junior & Senior years and dropped out of high school just after my Senior year. (I cut so many classes that I'd have to repeat the year.) When I was 19, I started at the local community college, but wound up dropping out because of some other unrelated issues.

Flash forward 4 1/2 years. Ever since the economy started going downhill, I was a little wary of job hunting without higher education. This came back to haunt me when I was laid off last September....

I think you see where this is going. I'm currently enrolled in Gloucester County College (Gloucester County, NJ), and intend to follow the footsteps of busdrivermatt by transferring to Temple. If all goes according to my plans, I should be attending Temple at this time next year. :)

That's me, in a nutshell. I hope that all of us can make this community pretty successful! :D
